Rituals Killers Attack Lagos Family, Murder Siblings
Some presumed rituals executioners have raged the habitation of a group of five kids on Saka Adegbose Street, off Olu Odo Road, Ikorodu.
The aggressors, who struck on Sunday, killed two kin, Azeezat Oriade and Abeeb Oriade. Two of the rest of the kin – Abdulazeez and Jamiu – were said to be in a basic condition at the Lagos University Teaching Hospital, Idi-Araba.
PUNCH Metro learnt that the four casualties were dozing in the lounge while their mom and one other girl were in the room when the attackers struck around 1am.
It was accumulated that the custom executioners had torn the net on one of the windows to access the flat and hit the four kids with a few items.
Soon after they cleared out, Abdulazeez allegedly shouted, which woke up their mom and neighbors.
The father, Lateef, a business driver, was not around on the day.
Our reporter learnt that 21-year-old Azeezat, the eldest offspring of the family, kicked the bucket promptly while her sibling, Abeeb, a Senior Secondary School 1 student, surrendered the phantom at the Ikorodu General Hospital.
The Oriades' living arrangement was forsaken on Monday when PUNCH Metro went to the group.
A previous director of the group improvement relationship in the range, Alhaji Wale Oladunjoye, said the casualties' folks were damaged and had been migrated by their relatives.
He said, "A couple of minutes after 1am, someone hit against my entryway, yelling that the Oriades have been assaulted. I called my sibling and we went to the loft. The occurrence was accounted for at the Ipakodo Police Division.
"At first, I thought it was equipped theft, however I was perplexed when I understood that nothing was stolen in the building. Four kids were severely harmed. Azeezat kicked the bucket in a flash. We hurried the three others to the Ikorodu General Hospital.
"After Abeeb passed on, the two others were alluded to the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital, Ikeja where they were rejected. We needed to move them down to LUTH.
"Abdulazeez's head and jaw were broken and he lost a few teeth. The family has been approached to raise N500,000 for pressing surgeries on his head."
Another occupant, who distinguished himself just as David, said the assault was the third in four months in the area, asking the administration to take activities to stop the bloodbath.
He said, "The assault is getting to be distinctly widespread and it is being executed by a group of custom executioners, who have been threatening Ibeshe, a neighboring group. They don't take. Around four months back, a family was assaulted on Adegbose Estate. A man and his three youngsters were executed.
"Three weeks back, a lady was assaulted at Power Line, a couple of kilometers from the domain. She could shout and that was what spared her. The hedge in the Oko Obasanjo range should be cleared in light of the fact that it serves as an escape course for lawbreakers."
A proprietor, Mr. Adigun Mukaila, said occupants had ended up overpowered by the assaults, and called for strengthened police watches on lanes over the group.
The representative for the Lagos State Police Command, SP Dolapo Badmos, said a manhunt had been propelled for the escaping suspects.
"A family was assaulted by unidentified men. Two kin lost their lives all the while. Inhabitants are recommending that it may be custom slaughtering. The summon is researching and working perseveringly to convey the guilty parties to book," Badmos said.
