The Vice Chancellor of Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba Akoko, Ondo State, Prof. Igbekele Ajibefun has thanked members of the University Community for their commitment to duties despite the current financial situation in the country. He also restated his commitment to the implementation of the Memorandum of Understanding signed with the academic union.

In his words, “Let me assure you that I remain absolutely committed to the welfare of staff and students. I am not unaware of the challenges members of staff are facing vis-a-vis the irregular payment of salaries which necessitated the strike embarked upon by the members of Academic Staff Union three months ago.
“The strike was suspended via a MoU signed with the Academic Staff Union. Let me use this opportunity to assure you that we are very much committed to the MoU. As a way of demonstrating the resolve to keep faith with this MoU as regards the payment of salaries, on Friday, November 4, 2016, staff accounts were credited with one month salary upon receipt of subvention from the State Government. Management is hopeful of getting another subvention very soon.
“Now that the strike is over, Management is working on all areas to significantly raise the Internally Generated Revenue (IGR) to supplement government subventions.
“It is the ultimate desire of Management to surpass the content of the MoU and sustain regular payment of salaries.
“Once again, I appreciate you all for your understanding and support for our University.”
